Federal Member for North Sydney – Trent Zimmerman (ON 1986)
In December 2015, Trent Zimmerman (ON 1986) was elected as the Member for North Sydney in a by-election following the retirement of former Federal Treasurer Hon Joe Hockey. Trent has been involved in politics most of his adult life, having held various elected positions within the NSW Liberal Party, currently serving as State President. Trent has previously served on the North Sydney Council for eight years and prior to his election was Deputy Chief Executive and Director, Transport Policy, of the Tourism and Transport Forum of Australia. Trent has also served on a number of community groups including as a Director of the Crows Nest Community Centre and Epilepsy Action Australia; a member of the North Sydney Demonstration School Council and a local zone chair for the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal. Trent is the son of the former long serving Head of Wyvern House the late Roy Zimmerman (Staff 1966 – 1996).
