Sports News – Sam Hardy (ON 2013), Harvard Rower

Sam Hardy is having a great time at Harvard!  The Universities have just started the competitive rowing season now and so far Sam has been placed in the Varsity boat rowing in the number 2 seat, pictured 2nd right above.

Sam represented Australia for the first time in the Coxed Four event at the Under 23 World Championships in Plovdiv Bulgaria last July .  They were placed first in their heat and came 5th in the A final. This was such a great experience for Sam as he was able to train all ‘summer’ in the US with the rest of the other Australian rowers studying in America.  They were based in Dartmouth for 6 weeks then travelled to Bosnia for a training camp with all the other Australians before heading to Plovdiv for the World Cup Championships.

Sam is nearing the end of his Sophomore year (2nd year). Sam has elected to major in VES (Visual and Environmental Science) as he has a keen interest in Film and Script Writing.Sam studied Film at Newington in Year 10 as well as doing a film as his major work in English (Extension 2) .
