Class of 1953 Reunion

A Letter from John Moore AM (ON 1953)

Greetings to all ON 1953ers,

I write to confirm the date of our luncheon later this year and report that planning is in hand; I trust that you have all noted this date in your diaries but, as a reminder, it will be Friday, 10 August 2018; I offer too my appreciation to the College Alumni Office who have supplied me with the appropriate lists of names and for their support in forwarding the letters to you.

Incidentally, the day following our luncheon is “Back to Newington Day”, and the College will be playing The King’s School at rugby.

As with last year, invitations will be forwarded to a several of our year who remained for another year in Sixth Form and thus formally, are the Year of 1954. However, as they spent most of their College years with us, I hope they will be able to join us for lunch.

Again, the venue will be the NSW Masonic Club in Castlereagh St. in the city, and the Adam Room has been reserved. However, on the basis that numbers may exceed the room’s capacity, a provisional reservation is in place for the Club’s Grand Dining Room.

You will be aware that the Headmaster has announced his retirement and will conclude his headmastership at the end of the year; and I am delighted to report that he will be joining us for lunch.

I will forward a formal invitation together with details of cost and other administrative matters closer to the day of our luncheon: I hope to see you all there!

My kind regards

John Moore
