FDC’s Pedal Power

Out of the 100 riders taking part in the the Royal Far West’s Ride for Country Kids, 19 were from FDC. The FDC 2016 team consisted of 13 riders and 3 support staff including FDC’s Managing Director Ben Cottle (ON 1981) and Director Blake Cottle (ON 1984). The event was a 390 kilometre ride from Port Macquarie to Coffs Harbour was held over the last 3 days.

Total funds raised are still being tallied however this year’s event has already raised in excess of $540,000. Every dollar raised goes directly to providing vital health services to country children, every cent and dollar really does make a difference to the kids and families that RFW supports.

Royal Far West (RFW) is a non-government organisation that helps provide comprehensive multi-disciplinary health services to thousands of country children with non-acute developmental, behavioural, learning and mental health disorders who cannot access these services from the areas where they live. Demand for these services is increasing, and RFW are committed to delivering services in response to this. Although Royal Far West does receive some government support, they depend on the generosity of individuals, corporations and community groups to continue their work.
