We are pleased to announce a new addition to our music calendar. The Middle School Ensemble Concert will give our Junior and Intermediate musicians a chance to showcase the music that they have been preparing throughout first semester. We look forward to hearing the results of their hard work live on Thursday 31 May.

The Founders Concert, a highlight of the music year, will explore a variety of repertoire and feature musicians and ensembles from across our three campuses. Please join us on Thursday 14 June for this Musical Feast!

In another exciting performance opportunity, Newington’s Orchestra, Symphonic Winds and Stage Band will be participating in the McDonald’s Performing Arts Challenge. Exact dates and times for all events are available on ‘Canvas’ and have been emailed. Good luck to all our performers.

With so many upcoming and challenging commitments, it is important that boys prioritise rehearsal times. The Music Department is currently in the process of chasing up absences and tardiness to all rehearsals, and we are hoping to enlist parent support. Boys are reminded that they should aim to arrive for morning rehearsals between 7.00 and 7.15am in order to start warm ups at 7.20am for 7.25am down beats. Any boy who misses a rehearsal needs to bring a note from parents acknowledging their awareness of the absence (email is fine). Permission to miss a rehearsal needs to be sought in advance from the ensemble director.
