Lachlan Elliott debuts with the Sydney Theatre Company
Year 9 student Lachlan Elliott (9/MA) is making his stage debut with the Sydney Theatre Company in Neil Armfield’s production of The Secret River. Working alongside one of the kings of Australian drama, Lachlan will be playing Willie Thornhill, son of the main character William Thornhill in Andrew Bovell’s version of the Australian classic by Kate Grenville.
But this is not the young thespian’s first time in front of an audience. Lachlan’s first television appearance was in the episode ‘1853’ of the ABC3 series My Place. He has also appeared in a number of television commercials.
The play begins in the slums of early 19th century London and moves to the luscious surrounds of the Hawkesbury River where a man hopes to cast his fortune on unfamiliar territory. The season runs until 9 February 2013.
