Artist of the Week: Yeon Ho Choi (10/JN), Year 10 Visual Arts

This term Year 10 visual arts students have explored the genre of still life. This graphite on cartridge paper drawing and monoprint in oil paints by Yeon is part of a larger series of works which have explored the still life genre. Students started with a realistic portrayal of a series of still life objects and throughout the term began to abstract this form using varying forms of printmaking. Alongside their practical explorations, students studied the concept of Modernism with a particular focus on Cubism as a movement which changed and challenged the art world in the early 20th Century.
