Not one, not two, but FOUR of our students have been shortlisted for the Australian Wood Review's Maker of the Year. A list of only 100 students, the award recognises the country's most talented and innovative woodworkers. Congratulations to:

Starring Year 11 student Jake T as protagonist Dan

Starring Year 11 student Jake T as protagonist Danny Fisher, our Senior play is set against the backdrop of Brisbane in 1942. In the midst of WWII and The Battle of Brisbane, Matthew Ryan's play allows us to step into the shoes of 14-year-old Danny, who is grieving the loss of his brother in the Bombing of Darwin, and look at life through his eyes for an evening.

These artists all received awards for their intricate and creative submissions to one of the most anticipated art events in our calendar. Our assembly audience waited with excitement for the announcement of the People's Choice Award winner, only to find out we have witnessed our first ever tie in the category! It was on World Teachers' Day last Friday that were proud to find out staff members Kate Kennedy White and Janine Timillero are two of this year's recipients of The Professional Teachers' Council NSW (PTCNSW) Outstanding Professional Service Award. The award recognises their years of commitment and professional service to the Association for Philosophy in Schools NSW and Gifted and Talented Secondary Teachers Association, respectively.

Congratulations to both educators for this accomplishment – it is a true reflection of their dedication, creativity and leadership in education.
