Dear Parents and Guardians,
This Saturday night is Rockfest 2019. Themed 90s Rock: Keeping Individual Teen Spirit Alive, we were given a taste of what to expect when our Year 7 Rock Club Band 2, The Casual Slacks, performed The Offspring classic Pretty Fly (For a White Guy). The band members – Adam Cooper, Angus Fletcher, Charlie Gill, Rupert Gillies, Isaac Holmes, Christian Ishak and Jesse Weinstein – had the audience rocking with a loud, crowd-pleasing performance. I’m told Saturday night will be ‘next level’, complete with special effects including smoke machines and a light show!
Congratulations to our Intermediate and Senior Theatresports teams who have made it into the Impro Australia Schools Challenge Grand Final at Enmore Theatre this Sunday. I wish our boys success and invite you to join me to see the fastest student minds in NSW in an afternoon and/or evening of improvised comedy madness. They will make you laugh, cry and cheer. You can book your tickets here.
Next week is the last week of term and we will celebrate Languages Week and Heritage Day. There are many activities planned, including a poetry competition and languages showcase on Wednesday evening, which you are invited to attend. Internationally themed meals will be available from the Cafeteria all week, the lunchtime Inter-House Competition will start on Tuesday and on Friday – Heritage Day – boys are encouraged to wear national dress and take part in the costume judging and lip sync battle that will take place during recess.
Term 2 concludes at 3.20pm on Friday 28 June and the boarding house closes at 5.00pm.
