Dear boys,
As you know, the College is preparing for all students to return full time from next week (Monday, 25 May). We look forward to having all the boys back and ask for your support with the ongoing modifications we have made to some of our routines (outlined below). Boys you can expect to be in your normal classes with teachers, and the co-curricular program will gradually return. Updates will be communicated through Spaces. Athletics starts next week, and you are all welcome, whether you are interested in competing for the school or simply in doing some fitness work to prepare for winter sport.
I will communicate next week the arrangements for Friday, 5 June, which had been listed on the calendar as a student free day (for staff professional learning). We understand some families will have already made arrangements, however given the recent disruptions to the student learning we are considering running a normal day of school. If we proceed with these plans, boys who are absent on 5 June will be marked as absent with permission.
We will operate under the following protocols:
- If you feel unwell or show even slight symptoms, please do not come to school.
- For the first full week back, at a minimum, we will continue to take the temperature of all staff and students as they come onto campus.
- Unless they are dropping off or picking up students, your parents and visitors are not permitted on campus unless given permission by Mr Roberts, Mr Quinane or Mr Driver, or in an emergency.
- Social distancing will continue as much as is reasonably practical.
- You should wash your hands with soap frequently and thoroughly and use the sanitiser from stations around the school.
- The cafeteria will remain cashless, so you will need your student card. Boys must keep 1.5 m between them when lining up.
- Classrooms and common areas will continue to be cleaned frequently.
- Locker rooms are open, but their use is optional. Boys you should only attend your locker room to drop off and collect things as quickly as possible.
- You should wear PE uniform on the days you have practical PE lessons or physical activities after school.
- You can continue to wear either PE jackets or blazers to and from school (no hoodies).
- Your haircut must conform to College guidelines next week. We have been lenient until now, but from Monday we ask for your cooperation in ensuring our standards of presentation are maintained.
- You can continue to carry your mobile phone with you as long as you have the COVIDSafe app operating.

- We anticipate an increase in traffic on the roads.
- Buses and trains might also be used more, including Newington run bus services given the full co-curricular program is not running yet.
- We have been told school students will be given priority. While we cannot control how NSW Transport manages its buses, we understand school buses will not be restricted to 12 people.

- Please continue to be considerate of our neighbours over this period.
