Dear parents and guardians,
Over the past few years, we have run programs at the school to change the way teachers and students interact in our classrooms. One of these is our ‘Golden Ticket’, where a student is selected to have a senior teacher shadow them for a day and attend their classes, do their classwork, be part of the things the boys are asked to do and even help with their homework.
Today I spent the day with Lucas Veloz (8/MA). We met early at the flagpole for a photo opportunity (see above) before making our way to class. I even donned a full school uniform so I could immerse myself fully in the experience.
This was our day:
- Latin with Ms Triantafyllou
- Science with Mr Davies
- Music with Mr Mann
- Maths with Mr Nowlan
- Business with Mr Pym
- English with Dr Marokakis
It was a fun day and great to experience classes from the other side and through the eyes of a Year 8 boy. I thank Lucas and his fellow classmates for helping me to settle into all my classes today. You can see more photos from the day here.
In the coming weeks, Year 7–12 reports will be sent home. There will be a letter sent with them explaining the new Learner Profiles. Please take the time to read this letter as it will help you to understand the new reporting format.
The MMG parent survey will close on Monday. On behalf of the Headmaster, I would like to sincerely thank all the parents who have taken the time to complete the survey and urge those who have not to please complete it this weekend.
I look forward to seeing you out and about at sporting fixtures this weekend.
