Dear Parents and Guardians,

Congratulations to all our boys who performed at Rockfest this week.  It was a wonderful night of creativity and energy as the boys showcased their talents.  

At assembly yesterday we farewelled the following staff members – Ms Kelly Billings (maternity leave), Ms Ellie Landy (exchange), Ms Katherine Francis, Ms Kathleen Kennedy, Ms Lisa McCowage and Dr Luke Gilmour.  The boys spoke with heartfelt gratitude about the impact that each talented teacher invested. We thank them for their contribution and dedication to Newington and wish them every success in their future endeavours.

Tomorrow the boys will celebrate Heritage Day.  As the SRC told me it is our ‘diversity that gives us the edge’ over other independent schools.  The SRC has worked hard at providing a day that celebrates the many diverse cultural backgrounds and all boys are encouraged to wear clothes that reflect their traditional culture.

It has been a successful term and I wish all staff, students and families a well deserved mid-year break.
