Dear Parents and Guardians,

What a privilege it was for us to host both Elizabeth Broderick AO, former Australian Sex Discrimination Commissioner and David Morrison AO, former Chief of the Australian Army and the 2016 Australian of the Year at our Assembly on Monday. A link to allow you to view this special assembly will be available tomorrow through Stanmore SPACES. Our Senior Prefect, Jack Jacobs, chaired a Q&A with our guest speakers and asked a series of probing questions around gender equality issues. Both David and Elizabeth shared some confronting statistics and challenged our boys to understand better the issues and to do more. 

We have continued to roll out the big names at College events with Mr Drew Ginn OAM, speaking yesterday at our Rowers’ Send Off Assembly about sustainable high performance. A subject he has an intimate understanding of given he is a five time World Champion and three time Olympic Gold Medallist. Drew also attended the Rowing Parents Association lunch where he presented our boys with their zoot suits, and this morning he spoke at a special breakfast for our Year 7-10 rowers. We are grateful to all our speakers for giving up their time this week and we wish all our crews every success this Saturday.
