Dear Parents and Guardians,
At assembly yesterday we recognised the achievements of our swimmers who have represented the school over the past season. Our team had great success at the GPS finals and we are very proud of their achievements and the work of their coaches. Our Silver Medal winning Rowing IV were also presented with their medals from the Nationals by our new Director of Rowing, Mr Richard Roach and the Headmaster. Congratulations also to the following boys who were announced as captains in their respective sports: Cross Country-Tom Naayen, Fencing-Harrison Saunders, Football-Sam Mehmet, Rifle Shooting-Fletcher Howell, Rugby-Tom Serhon and Volleyball-Lachlan Garner. We look forward to their leadership over the coming season.
The Headmaster gave a warm welcome to our new Chaplain, Rev Geordie Barham with the staff and boys giving a stirring rendition of ‘Holy Mother’ by Eric Clapton. Click here to watch the video. The depth of talent again on display by our musicians highlights how wonderful it is to be part of this community. Rev Barham will be commissioned as a Newington College Chaplain next Wednesday evening at 5.00pm. Parents and boys are most welcome.
I wish all our teams good luck this weekend as we host Kings.
