Dear Parents and Guardians,

Many of the middle and senior leaders have spent considerable time recently planning for 2017. Much of the planning has been around the employment of new teachers, teaching loads and class allocation. All teachers who come to work at Newington go through a rigorous process for selection with all being required to interview with a panel, and then the Headmaster, myself and the Deputy Heads of Campus. They are also all required to teach a class along with background checks. I am pleased to say I have been very impressed with the calibre of staff we attract to our school and I look forward to informing you more about them when the last couple of positions are finalised.

Last Friday the boys participated in National Bandanna Day and raised significant funds for CanTeen which supports young people living with cancer. What a great effort from the boys and my thanks go to all those who supported this worthy cause.

For the Year 12 IBDP boys their exams finally commenced yesterday and I wish all the boys every success.  Exams have also commenced for Years 7 and 8, with Year 10 commencing tomorrow.
