Dear Parents and Guardians,
On Tuesday evening we had the pleasure of hosting Years 10, 11 and 12 boys, family and friends at the 2017 Careers Expo. The evening was broken into three separate events.
- The P&F Careers Expo which had over 70 exhibitors including Universities, Colleges, TAFE and the Defence Forces
- ONU Careers Advice gave students access to over 50 Old Boys who have gone on to have success in a wide variety of occupations. Their first hand advice was invaluable.
- Tertiary Application Seminar offered boys, family and friends the opportunity to listen to advice on subject selection, the University Application process, Scholarships and Alternate Entry Pathways.
Thank you to Mr Shane Serhon and his team and the Community and Development office for making this such a successful event for all.
And to a change of pace.
This afternoon we held the House Singing Competition. We were entertained with Newington College versions of Little Wonders by Fletcher; Act Your Age by Kelynack; All Star by Le Couteur; Sweet Caroline by Johnstone; Do You See What I See by Manton; Hooked on a Feeling by Metcalfe; Take on Me by Moulton and Under the Bridge by Prescott. Whilst performances were very good and the boys had a lot of fun, the College Choir, who have performed brilliantly at each of the House Chapel services remain the undisputed leader in choir singing across the College.
The House Singing Competition was a great way to finish the school week as tomorrow is a Student Free Day followed on by the Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday on Monday. Just a reminder there will be no Sport fixtures over the weekend and the Library will be closed.
Enjoy the long weekend!
