Dear Parents and Guardians,
We have had another busy week on campus celebrating the many and varied achievements of our boys.
At assembly we congratulated our NSW All Schools Athletics Age Champions: Jake Goodhand (8/KL) U13, Hugh Bell (8/KL) U14, Tolu Koula (9/FL) U15, James Karabesinis (11/KL) U16, Michael van Walsum (11/JN) U17 and Matt Dyster (11/FL) the 3000m Champion.
We were entertained by the Intermediate Jazz Ensemble who performed “River City Blues” and we announced our Summer Sports Captains for 2017/2018. Our Basketball Captain is Reed Nottage (11/LE), Cricket Captain is Tom Whitnall (11/PR), Rowing Captain is Richmond Sear (11/MA), Tennis Captain is Josh Kaplan (11/KL) and Water Polo Captain is Aidan Schmitt (11/MA).
Our Senior Prefect, Lachlan McIntyre (11/JN) talked to the boys about the importance of community spirit, celebrating individuality and service. He urged boys to become the best version of themselves before announcing the 2018 motto “One for Many”.
One – Individuality, building potential to become our best self
For – Serving and Assisting others even when it would be easier to step back
Many – Community spirit and passion for the school
Lachlan’s closing message to the boys was “Be that One for Many”.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish our Year 12 2017 IB boys all the very best for their exams which start next week.
Enjoy the weekend.
