Dear Parents and Guardians,
In assembly this week the Headmaster addressed the school on the tragic death of Phillip Hughes and the element of risk that exists in every sport. The message was clear to the boys that there is an element of risk in all that we do and that this should not prevent us from striving to do our very best.
We also farewelled some staff that will be leaving us at the end of the year. These included Mr Mark Schuler, Mr Mark Oliphant, Mr Rolfe Kolbe, Mr Marco Scali, Mr Geoff Wren and Mrs June Cartmer. We wish them all the very best in their future endeavours and they left assembly to a rousing farewell from the boys.
On a personal note it has been a pleasure to have been Acting Head of Stanmore over the past term and I have appreciated the support of the staff and the parent body in particular.
I wish all families a restful and peaceful Christmas and a wonderful holiday break.
