Dear Parents and Guardians,

What a wonderful time to be Australian! The recent commemoration of the Centenary of Anzac has evoked a vast array of emotions as we have listened to the stories of both ANZACs and Old Newingtonians alike. Despite the passage of time, yesterday we honoured those Old Boys who while ‘Nobly Striving, Nobly Fell’. So many boys and staff contributed towards Anzac commemorations and I sincerely thank them all. As Rev Williams challenged us in his Anzac address ‘We honour them in the way we live our lives today’. Lest We Forget.

I invite all parents to two important P&F events next week. Next Tuesday evening gifted speaker Trent Southworth will present on ‘Discussing Social Issues with your Teens’, whilst on Wednesday evening the P&F will proudly launch the 7th Literature Festival with an ethical forum on ‘Why Do We Need Literature in Today’s World?’ I urge your attendance at both events which promise to be informative and educational.
