Dear Parents and Guardians,
As a new member of the community I have just learnt that the stompingĀ of the feet is the ultimate mark of respect in assembly. On Wednesday we held one of the most important assemblies of the year where we invited back our high academic achievers from the HSC and IBDP Year 12 2015 class, as well as presenting Academic Colours to our 2015 Year 10 and Year 11 students. Mr Trent Driver, Deputy Head of Stanmore (Academic) spoke passionately about the diversity of academic programs and co-curricular activities that the boys had been involved in during their last year of school. We know that such involvement not only helps all our boys achieve academically, but also givesĀ them the opportunity to explore further interests and leadership possibilities.
Our guest speaker, Mr Eric Shi (ON 2010) spoke to the boys about how our greatest achievements come off the back of our failures. He reminded the boys to develop their own perspective as to what success means to them. It was wonderful for our teachers to then have the opportunity to catch up with the boys and their parents and hear of their adventures since finishing Year 12.
