Dear Parents and Guardians,
This week I had the pleasure of attending the Junior and Senior Concerto Concerts. All those present reflected on the exceptional standard of performance, and this was reiterated by the well respected Associate Professor of Piano at the University of Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Mr Daniel Herscovitch. It was a privilege for the many staff and parents to be able to watch and listen to these performances. Whilst I am hesitant to mention individuals given the high standard across all performances, congratulations must go to the following boys: Junior Boys: 1st-Angellos Korsanos (9/FL), 2nd-Gabriel Haslam (9/KL) and 3rd-Christian McLoughlin (8/JN). Senior Boys: 1st-Jeremi Campese (12/MA), 2nd-Chris Cooper (12/LE) and 3rd-Nico Maclean (10/KL). James Rosse (11/PR) and Rohan Wong (10/LE) also did very well receiving Highly Commended.
At assembly yesterday Deputy Senior Prefect, Alexander Barrat, gave a stirring talk to the boys which built on the ‘Value You, Support Him, Stand with Her’ motto . He challenged and encouraged the boys to actively watch out for each other, support each other at games and stand by those going through difficult times. He finished by placing the responsibility on each boy to ensure that they care for their mates.
We also acknowledged a number of boys who were awarded House Honour Colours. Many hours of volunteer work goes into achieving this award and I congratulate all the boys for their significant contribution to the many areas of school life. Congratulations also to Alex Goth who was announced as the Captain of Debating. I look forward to his leadership over the coming season and thank Ms Kate Shepherd and her team for the tremendous guidance and support they give the boys in this program.
