Dear Parents and Guardians,
At yesterday’s assembly our Headmaster gave a stirring speech applauding the boys for how they have responded to adversity and tough times over the past few weeks. He thanked the boys for not only their grit and determination, but for all the hard work and effort that they had displayed on the stage, on the sporting field, and at various events such as Back to Newington Day. The College is indeed a special place highlighted by the many wonderful events over the last three weeks.
Congratulations must go to all those involved in the Founders Concert last week. What a spectacular night of entertainment, and the depth of talent in our boys is a credit to the many teachers, parents and, of course, the boys themselves who have practiced for countless hours over the years. To the Year 12 boys, we thank you especially for the longevity of your commitment to the music program, as well as for your song to Mr Scott – ‘To Sir with Love’.
Finally, I sincerely thank the P&F and the many support groups for a very successful Back to Newington Day. There was a wonderful community feel to the day and I know a lot of hard work went into organising all the stalls and activities. My thanks also goes to the many volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout the day to ensure a seamless event. Congratulations to all.
