Dear Parents and Guardians,
With only a few weeks until the end of term the school continues to be busy with a range of activities. Firstly, I would like to thank our Cadets who participated in a Remembrance Day service last Friday as we took time to remember those who died or suffered in conflict.
Currently our Year 7 boys are involved in a number of activities around sustainability at Newington. This is a great opportunity for the boys to identify an issue and develop skills and knowledge around that issue. These activities not only keep the boys engaged, but broadens their learning experience through activities that progressively get more challenging.
At yesterday’s assembly our Nepalese GAP student, Ashish Sharma, who was the head boy at the SOS Hermann Gmeiner School in Nepal, spoke to the boys about the wonderful experience he is enjoying at Newington. Next Thursday we will be holding a ‘mufti day’ to raise much needed funds for Ashish’s school and a remote medical centre.
Finally, I would like to thank the many parents who volunteered to support the boys during the exam period. Your generosity in giving up your time was greatly appreciated.
