Dear Parents and Guardians,
The term is now in full swing with the boys rolling through their assessment tasks. In addition rehearsals for plays continue, debating has begun, winter pre-season has started and the summer season continues.
As such our Headmaster addressed the boys at assembly yesterday about how some of our most memorable sportsmen and teams over the years earned their reputations by their actions. They showed great humility by respecting others first, whether they had won or lost a game. He asked the boys to think about what their actions demonstrated about their personal reputation or character – in class, in their music group, their sport, mentor group or whatever it was they were involved in. His address was a timely reminder for each boy to remember that his reputation is earned by his actions.
Thank you to all the parents who responded to the Administration Day survey. We will retain the concept and have already put in place changes for 2018 to provide more opportunities for boys and parents.
Today at year level assemblies we spoke with the boys about their responsibilities when travelling on public transport with respect to paying passengers, the elderly and the very young. I ask that you also emphasise this in your conversations with your sons.
