Dear Parents and Guardians,

Our Senior Leaders led the way at yesterday’s assembly as we acknowledged International Women’s Day. The three Senior Leaders from MLC, Captain-Zoe Latham and Vice Captains-Rebecca Janssen and Jasmine Todoroska were our guest speakers, and spoke to our Year 9-12 boys on this year’s theme of ‘Be Bold for Change’. They reminded our boys about the ongoing struggles that women face on a daily basis, and encouraged them to treat women with respect to alleviate sexism in our society. It was a great assembly and I would like to thank the Senior Leaders from MLC for giving up their time for such an important issue as gender equality.

Mrs Julie Burke, Head of Middle Years, held a separate assembly for our Year 7 and 8 boys along a similar theme which was more appropriate for their age.

Parents, please be aware that next week the footbridge crossing Stanmore Road will be closed for repairs. For next week only the boys will use the western side of Holt Street (that is the IGA side) to walk to and from the station. The boys will then be supervised by staff to cross Stanmore Road at the traffic lights. Safety is our main priority next week so could you please remind your boys to be alert and listen to instructions from staff.
