Dear Parents and Guardians,

This week we announced the winter captains and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the following boys:

David Charlton (12/MA) – Cross Country

Winston Lin (12/FL) – Fencing

Jacob Nastasi (12/PR) – Football

Edwin Hooper (12/JN) – Rifle Shooting

George Burley (12/KL) – Volleyball

Jarrah Lindhout (12/KL) –  Debating Captain

*The Captain of Rugby will be finalised shortly.

Congratulations is also extended to Year 7 and Year 8 Da Vinci Decathlon teams who finished in third and second place respectively in a field of 70 schools.  This is a great result and both teams were fine ambassadors for Newington College.

At assembly, one of our Deputy Senior Prefect’s Jarrah Lindhout (12/KL) spoke brilliantly to all gathered and I attach the transcript for you to read. Click here to read. Our Captain of Boarding also spoke proudly of the Edmund Webb Boarding House in the context of National Boarding week. Finally, Michael Van Walsum (11/JN) and Nicolas Yule (9/ME) shared their experiences from the European Football Tour through a fantastic speech and video.
