Dear Parents and Guardians,
On Monday our Year 7–10 boys headed to the ovals to take part in House Athletics Day. The day was freezing, but the rain held off long enough for the boys to compete. Bragging rights go to Le Couteur, who won the day.
Our Year 11 and 12 boys have been sitting their examinations. I’d like to acknowledge the hard work they put in to prepare for them, and to encourage boys to ensure they keep a sense of balance for the rest of the year. Examinations are important, but so are families, friends, exercise and sleep! These exams finish on Friday 7 September.
Some housekeeping messages:
- Please remind boys that during exam periods there is an expectation that they wear the correct school uniform and adhere to the grooming standards of the College.
- Summer sport training for students will commence in Week 7A (from Monday 3 September).
- Parents and guardians of Year 12 2018 students who have not registered for Valedictory Celebrations please do so here.
- Any communication with teachers should be coordinated through your son’s Mentor or Head of House.
I look forward to seeing many of you on Saturday evening at the Newington P&F Ball and I would also like to take this opportunity to wish all Newington fathers a very Happy Father’s Day this Sunday 2 September.
