Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to Term 4.
Congratulations to the 164 boys who were confirmed as Full College Prefects on Tuesday. We have a unique Prefect system at the College. All Year 12 boys are eligible to be named Prefects, but must fulfil a number of requirements before being granted the title. Our system demands boys in Year 12 set the tone of our College, take responsibility and lead by example. Full College Prefectship is not a given. It is something the boys must work hard at to achieve. Most boys, I am proud to say, have exceeded what was required of them – and in most cases, not because it would mean they would be confirmed as a Prefect, but because they wanted to contribute, to give back and to improve themselves and the College. Good leaders see a need and they do something about it.
I would like to thank our outgoing Senior Leaders, Lachlan McIntyre, Matt Dyster and Alexander Humphreys, for their leadership. It was earnest, authentic and caring. They brought humility and kindness to the many conversations they needed to have. Most importantly, we thank them and the Year 12s for what they did when nobody was watching.
Next week, we will turn the page and swear in the 2019 Senior Leadership team. I extend an open invitation to any parents or guardians who would like to attend this Assembly on Wednesday 24 October commencing at 12.30pm in the Taylor Sports Centre.
To all parents and guardians who have helped make the first week of our new mobile phone initiative a success – thank you.
Enjoy the weekend.
