Dear Parents and Guardians,
We have reached the midpoint of a very busy Term 4. Our Year 12 HSC boys sit their last exams on Monday, our IB boys have another two weeks of exams to go and Year 9 and 10 will start their exams next week. I wish all our boys the very best.
Tomorrow Newington College will host the Governor’s 1st XI v ADF 1st XI cricket match. We will welcome the Governor of NSW, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AO QC, to the school as part of the event.
Monday is Remembrance Day and we will hold our Remembrance Day Service in the Sesqui Courtyard. Remembrance Day marks the day World War I ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. This is always a moving and memorable service at the College, and our cadets play a central role. The ceremony will conclude with a two-minute silence at 11am to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their countries.
Summer sport is now well underway. This weekend our rowers will take part in their first regatta for the season and our 1st and 2nd XI Cricket teams will play their first two-day GPS fixture for the season. Good luck to all our teams.
Enjoy the weekend.
