Dear parents and guardians
We held our Remembrance Day Service in the Sesqui Courtyard on Wednesday. Remembrance Day marks the day World War I ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, 102 years ago yesterday. This is always a moving and memorable service at the College, and our cadets play a central role. The catafalque party were superb, and Adam Cooper (8/JN) played The Last Post and The Rouse like a true professional.
The ceremony concluded with the laying of a wreath and a period of silence at 11.00am to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their countries. I congratulate all boys on the respect they showed during the service. You can watch our Remembrance Day service here.
Yesterday was also a memorable day for our Year 12 HSC boys who completed their final exams, and tomorrow our IB boys will do the same. Our Year 9 and 10 boys are in the middle of exams, so I hope they have established good study programs at home that are free from distractions.
Yesterday I communicated with all parents about the 158th Annual Prize Giving, which is to be held at the Stanmore Campus on Friday 4 December, commencing at 3.45pm.
Summer sport is now well underway and this Friday the 1st VIII will compete in the AAGPS Sculling trials for selection into the GPS 8. I wish all the boys good luck.
Enjoy your weekend – just three weeks until the end of term.
