Dear parents and guardians,
I hope all our Newington families have enjoyed the holiday period and I look forward to welcoming the boys back on Monday morning.
During the holiday period the campus is far from quiet. Our Property and Grounds staff double their efforts to repair, refurbish, maintain and upgrade our facilities so that the College is in perfect condition for the start of the new term. I urge you to take the time to look at the buildings and grounds that make up the Stanmore Campus when you next visit – they are a credit to our team.
Our Year 12 boys have also been on Campus studying in the Year 12 Study Centre and sitting practice exam papers. There has been a roster of tutors available to all boys during the day.
I would ask you to share the following reminders with your boys so that we may have a seamless transition to Term 2.
- Boys should return to school with a suitable haircut, be clean shaven and remember to leave any holiday jewellery at home.
- Uniform expectations for Term 2 are Full Blazer Uniform with shirts tucked in, top button done up and clean polished shoes.
I would like to welcome our new Head of Boarding Mr Xavier Gargan who has joined the College coming from Churchie in Brisbane. To assist Mr Gargan, we have appointed a new Adolescent Health Nurse Mr Liam Hart who will also be on board for the start of term.
On Tuesday 27 April at 8.30am we will hold our ANZAC Parade. Our Cadets, Cadet Leaders and Special Guests make this a truly memorable occasion and I extend an invitation to all Parents and Guardians to join us for the Parade.
Enjoy the last weekend of the holidays and I look forward to seeing the boys on Monday which will be week 11A.
