Dear parents and guardians,
It was wonderful to be able to take part in 2021 ANZAC Day Services, a highlight of which was seeing Lachlan Green (12/KL) march in his Newington uniform with his grandfather at the parade in the city.
Our own ANZAC Day Parade was held on Tuesday. I am very proud of our boys for the respect they showed and the effort they put into ensuring our service honoured those who have served their country and those who made the ultimate sacrifice. To the staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the parade such a magnificent occasion, I thank you. I do say it every year, but this year really was the best so far.
Today is the second day of the 10th Biennial LitFest, a three-day program held at Newington College that features a wide range of engaging events to celebrate the written and spoken word.
Today and tomorrow at the College we are being entertained during lunch with musical performances on the steps of Centenary Hall in the lead-up to Rockfest. We have some very talented musicians at the College.
This weekend our boarders will participate in Relay for Life. The boys will be raising much-needed funds for the Cancer Council. If you would like to support our boys and donate, please click here.
Next week is Newington Camp Week. We will have boys at Murramarang National Park, Shellharbour, Colo Valley, Chowder Bay, Cockatoo Island and Lane Cove. Camp Week is a first for Newington College, and I am looking forward to visiting boys at different sites next week and staying overnight at Cockatoo Island.
Last Friday you were sent a link to the MMG Parent Survey. I urge you to take the time to complete this survey, as it provides the College with valuable feedback.
Enjoy the weekend.
