Year 4 Cricket v Mosman Prep: 27 October 2012
On a sunny Saturday morning Newington 10’s cricket played Mosman Prep. Mosman won the toss and decided to bowl. We got some great sixes and fours during our batting, with all the boys doing well. We ended up scoring 160 off our 16 overs which was a great effort.
Then Mr Lygo gave us a quick pep talk, and we were out on the field. We got some great run outs and all the boys bowled really well. Mosman were catching up, but we managed to hold our game together and managed to just get over the line. Mosman ended up on 149.
1 point went to the whole team, 2 points went to Nicholas Bunis and 3 points went to Alistair Shaw. Great game boys and thanks for the parents for supporting.

Swimming Update
As you are aware, the boys have been taking part in swimming as part of the PDHPE program. This is the third year I have been a part of this unit and I am amazed at the progression of some of the boys, particularly in Junior Primary. Boys like Jack Middleton and Laksh Pande who were in life jackets in Kindergarten (due to fear) are now swimming with great confidence and are even attempting Butterfly with great results.
The unit was designed to expose the students to water safety and swimming ability and all boys have embraced the initiative, completing stroke correction and practice, diving for rings and will all take part in modified games of water polo at the conclusion of the unit. I am very proud to be conducting this unit again and I wanted to formally thank you and congratulate you as parents for the great work you have done in maintaining and extending their knowledge, skill and confidence in the water.
