Year 5 Camp to Bathurst
On Wednesday 22 to Friday 24 August the Year 5 boys left with Wyvern for a 3 day camp to Jenolan Caves, Bathurst and Hill End.
They had been looking forward to going on camp to Bathurst all year and were definitely not disappointed!
We have been inquiring about ‘Where we are in place and time’. The focus of the camp was that ‘Exploration leads to discovery’. The excursion to the Jenolan Caves, Hill End and Bathurst Goldfields provided a hands on and close up look at the environment that helped to make Australia what it is today. The boys were able to see firsthand the accommodation and surroundings of the Hill End miners. They scaled an old mine and got the opportunity to climb the 10 stories out the top. For Bathurst at this time of year . . . it was balmy. We had a fabulous trip and came back with a new appreciation of our early miners. We look forward to next year and another amazing adventure.
Thanks boys for a wonderful 3 days.
