A Message from Mr Holden
It has been a very positive start to the year at Wyvern. The excitement of boys using our new and upgraded facilities has been a particular highlight. The new Year 6 centre has, for the first time, brought Year 6 students together in an area that enables students to work closely across all 4 classes. The centre also reflects some of the traits of the Tupou Year 7 centre which will assist the transition process for the Year 6 cohort into the Senior School next year.
Our new music rooms and upgraded hall have also been a much-needed improvement. All music activities, from ensembles to music classes, to individual lessons and large choirs are now taking place in our purpose built music centre.
The STEM room has also been fully used over the last 2 weeks and it has been exciting to see boys making the most of new science opportunities with Ms Bosch, our STEM Specialist teacher.
As wonderful as our new facilities are, it is even more pleasing to see the excellent relationships our teachers are forming with their classes. Positive, caring and respectful relationships between students and staff are a prerequisite for learning to take place. I am greatly encouraged by the foundations laid so far in this regard.
Can I please remind parents that when using the car park to pick up your sons in the afternoon it is important that parents do not arrive early in Harrow Road, as this causes significant congestion. For K-2 please do not arrive prior to 3:05pm and for Years 3-6 please do not arrive prior to 3:20pm.
If your son, for any reason, is not in the car park when you arrive for pickup, we ask that you drive through and rejoin the queue.
Note: we offer a long time period for car park pickup until 3:40pm.
Ian Holden
