Time flies when you’re having fun even at school!

As we quickly work through the second term of 2013 there are many things happening at Wyvern. Excursions, Sesquicentenary Whole School Photo, Sport, Year group dinners and of course our very own White Christmas in July.

UPDATE ON THE P & F MEETING
SPACES and how do I use them? Emma Clemens gave a great presentation about how to log on, access the different SPACES and online tuckshop ordering. The P & F and the IT department are working towards a site that is more user friendly and one that is not overloaded with information. Thank you Emma for your time on the night and for the informative presentation.

A reminder to all parents: from Term 4 the Tuckshop lunch ordering system will only be available online. If you are still not familiar with the online ordering process, log onto SPACES and go to Your Student Account in the top right hand corner. Then,  follow the step-by-step instructions.

MUSIC WEEKEND UPDATE
A big thank you to Ms Alina Belshaw and Ms Caoimhe McMillan, all the Newington Music staff, Nicole Newson from CAST and the wonderful volunteers for bringing the Music Workshop weekend together. During Saturday afternoon and Sunday all the music groups practised together in a light social environment that made learning fun. This all leads up to the Music Showcase and the Founders Concert in the near future. After hearing from all the different music groups, the weekend was very successful. The music department has put a huge amount of work into our own special production of  The Wyvern Music Showcase to be held on Wednesday 5 June at 6.00pm sharp. The event will be finished before 8pm for a quick getaway for those who have other plans on that night. Boys involved in the showcase need to be at Centennial Hall by 5:15pm in full winter uniform (no black cap).

LIMITED EDITION PRINT
To mark the College’s Sesquicentenary, Australian artist Rodney Pople has painted a group portrait of the first seven headmasters at Newington College. 150 signed limited edition prints of this portrait are now available for you to keep.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY
Tickets are now on sale for the ‘Christmas in July’ to be held at Ecco Ristorante in Drummoyne. Kindy 2013 have done a fabulous job of making this special midyear event (a first at Wyvern) a wonderful white winter experience. The cost of the night is $78 per head and covers everything – food/drinks, entertainment and there will be a lucky door prize of – A table for 10 to the Black & White Ball on 14 September. K – 2 FATHER AND SON CAMP
Our annual K – 2 Father and Son camp will be held on Friday 23 August until Sunday 25 August. We are looking for fathers to assist Costa Mina in organising parts of the weekend. If you are able to help please contact Costa on cmina@reality-check.com.au  To download the application form, Click here
