P&F News and Events

Spring is in the Air

The weekend past saw the K-2 Father and Son Camp. Huge thanks goes to Karl Cope who directed and coordinated the weekend without any mishaps. Thanks also goes to the Camp Committee including Emma Cope, Philip Argy and David Mills. We are now looking for dads to assist with the running of the camp next year (2013). If you would like to send in your details to us we can include this in the Camp Committee for 2013. There is nothing too involved – your commitment will make it a success in 2013.

The P&F meeting that was held last Thursday saw a wonderful commitment from the Wyvern parents. Thank you to those who attended and special thanks to the Gap Students who assisted with the child minding and ‘free pizzas’.  The kids played games on the rooftop and had a great time.

Term 4 will see the boys wearing their full summer uniform which consists of a short sleeve shirt, grey shorts and a black jumper for cooler days. All these items are available from the Uniform Shop. Please check your uniform supplies before we go on school holidays so that you are ready for the first day back in Term 4.

The Fathers’ Day breakfast will be held tomorrow morning in Wyvern Hall and the rooftop. Many thanks to the Year 2 parent group who have organised ‘pass the ball and soccer shoot outs’. There will be delicious food and steaming coffee available.  This is another successful event that the Wyvern P&F provides for families fee of charge to develop the sense of community. Thank you to all those who will be attending and if you do not wish to be included in the Waratah’s photos for their website, please see me at the door on the morning.

The Newington College Rowing Support Committee will be selling ‘School Fee’ raffle tickets for $100  for a chance to win your son’s 2013 school fees. They will be located in the foyer just outside Wyvern Hall entrance. If you are interested, card, cash or cheques will be accepted.

Newington College Rugby GPS are currently undefeated with a 10 point lead. This weekend they take on Shore and we would like to encourage any boy in Wyvern to attend the game. It is a requirement to wear your full school uniform (blazer included) to support the school as they chase premiership glory.
