K – 2 Artist of the Week
Luca Celona-Bower in KL and Fletcher Lapthorne and Nathan Chong from 1W are to be congratulated on being awarded ‘Artist of the Week’.
Luca carefully printed a flowery scene like Monet’s Garden. He was able to use ‘Bunny Hop’ finger printing as a technique to mix the primary colours into more colours. Nathan looked at the Hokusai work titled ‘The Great Wave’. He was able to neatly recreate this idea in a 3D form using paper as sculpture.
Fletcher thought about and used acrylic paint to create a snowy landscape background in his art work based on the weather. He then cleverly drew action ski figures in oil pastel to complete the work.
Nathan’s skill in curling, bending, folding and gluing showed great fine motor skill and imagination. Nathan Chong.
