A Message from Mr Holden
Residential Visits
Year 5 and Year 6 have recently taken part in 3 day residential excursions – Year 5 to Bathurst and Year 6 to Canberra. It is clear that students made the most of the many exciting activities planned for them. I am especially pleased to have received such good reports of the boys’ excellent conduct during their time away from school. I thank the staff members who accompanied the residential excursions for their fine work in looking after your sons so well.
Class Allocation 2013
The process for allocating students to next year’s classes is thorough and starts in Term 4. As part of this process some parents may feel that they can assist by offering information about their son. Should you wish to express a view about the style of classroom management you feel may best suit your son (e.g. particularly nurturing or greater structure). I invite you to contact me via email before the end of this term. Please note that I cannot consider requests received after this deadline.
Please note that requests for particular teachers or for a teacher based on his or her gender will not be considered in this process and be mindful that whilst we are receptive to parental input, the school has the final say in decisions regarding class placement for 2013.
Aquatics Program
A quick reminder that our Aquatics Program for all classes starts in Term 4 and will run for the first 5 weeks. More detailed information will be sent home very shortly, however should you have any further question please feel free to contact Mr Jamie Martin our PDHPE teacher – j.martin@newington.nsw.edu.au

Last Day of Term 3
A final reminder that the last day of Term 3 for Wyvern students is Thursday 20 September. Boys return to school for Term 4 on Monday 8 October wearing their summer school uniform. I thank students, staff and parents for a most purposeful term.
