As we rapidly approach the mid-way point of the term I am pleased to see Wyvern boys displaying great endeavour and energy in a wide range of activities.

No greater was this evident than at last week’s Years 3 – 6 Athletics Carnival. I was delighted to see all boys so engaged in many athletic disciplines on the day as well as some outstanding individual and team performances. Possibly the most exciting part of the day were our junior and senior relays, where House spirit was keenly demonstrated by all. Many thanks to the many parents who supported the boys on the day and to the staff team for their excellent organisation of the carnival.

Thank you to the many parents (50%) who recently took time to fill in our bi-annual parent survey. Key areas of the school including; learning and teaching, pastoral care, co-curricular program, spirituality, values and ethos, staff and communication were covered. On initial analysis I am delighted to report an exceptionally positive outcome with parent satisfaction exceeding 95% in the vast majority of areas.  I thank parents for their clear and candid feedback; this forms an important part of our future planning at Wyvern. I will give more feedback about the survey results at this evening’s P&F meeting.

At the end of this week, Mrs Beth Anderson, in our front office, will be leaving Wyvern due to her family relocating to the UK. Beth has only been with us a short time, but has made a most positive contribution. We wish her every success for her future pathway. I am pleased to announce that Ms Emma Kershaw will join our office team from Monday 18^th August. Emma has previously worked in administration roles in schools in NSW and Queensland.

Finally good luck to the Newington Prep Schools’ Athletics Team as they compete in the Newington Invitational Carnival on Saturday at Homebush.
