Year 6 were presented with an enormous challenge this year. They needed to create an interesting and unique portrait for their entry into the ‘Wyvernbald’ competition, a homage to the ‘Archibald Prize’ competition.

Students were able to choose anyone they admired and paint them using a variety of painting techniques. Students were taken on a journey that involved many practice techniques including a step by step guide to using a grid, painting shadows and making the painting ‘come alive’ with the light in their subjects’ eyes.
