A Message from Mr Holden
A reminder that this year’s Annual Wyvern Prize Giving for students in Years 3 – 6 will take place in Centenary Hall on Thursday 6 December at 9:00am. Students are asked to meet their class teachers at the Senior School outside the Music Centre (next to Centenary Hall) no later than 8:30am wearing summer uniform minus black cap. Note: boys performing in various music ensembles are required to arrive earlier. They will be notified of the time next week. Following Prize Giving we invite parents and students to join the Wyvern staff for morning tea under the space frame area near to the gym.
I thank the staff team for their dedication, hard work and commitment shown to Wyvern students in 2018. Ms Caoimhe McMillan (music) who is currently on maternity leave, has relocated and therefore formally leaves us at the end of the year; I thank Caoimhe for her excellent contribution over several years. I thank the staff who have undertaken temporary roles in 2018, namely: Mr David Munnoch, Mr Tom Thoroughgood, Ms Katie Drake, Ms Sophia Lee, Mrs Eva Angel, Mr Stuart Brown, Mrs Lisa Seymore and Mrs Julie Burke. I wish Mrs Alina Belshaw (Head of Music) every blessing as she starts a period of maternity leave. Mrs Belshaw is planning to return in Term 4 of 2019.
I acknowledge the tremendous parental support that we were so fortunate to receive. In particular I pay tribute to Mrs Lillian Fadel who after 2 years of superb leadership of the Wyvern P & F has stepped down as President. I warmly welcome Mr Mick Cronin to the President role. Mick has previously served as P & F Treasurer and Vice President.
Finally, I wish you all a wonderful family focussed summer break and festive season. I look forward to seeing boys and families on 29 January for the start of the 2019 academic year.
Head of Wyvern House
