A Message from Mr Holden
Welcome back to what will be a very full and active Term 4. Please refer to the latest Term 4 Parent Calendar (available via Wyvern Spaces) for all details.
2020 CLASS ALLOCATION
The process for allocating students to their 2020 classes is well underway. It is my intention to inform you of your son’s new 2020 class before the end of this term. Boys will have the opportunity to meet their new teacher on “One-Up Morning” on 28 November. Please note that the deadline for parental input into the process has now passed and unfortunately, as such, I cannot consider any further requests.
2019 STANSW YOUNG SCIENTIST AWARDS
We are pleased to announce that out of 920 projects submitted in New South Wales (from Kindy to Year 12), three Wyvern Students have been selected as prize-winners in the 2019 STANSW Young Scientist Awards. They are:
- Joshua Cronin (4P) with ‘Is Tap Water Safe to Drink?’
- Ruben Merani (5D) with ‘Dazzling and Daring Drive Time Dissertation.’
- Sebastian Wong (6K) with ‘How Much Sleep does Your Body Really Need?’
Congratulations to the above Wyvern students and well done to the other students who entered (Theodore Wong 2B, Harry Vohra 4H, Ben Chau 5M, Benny Hunt 6J, Angus Thompson 6J and Patrick Jones 6H). The time the boys dedicated to their project was considerable and all deserve our congratulations. Also, a big thank you to Ms Bosch for her expert guidance of the boys.

AFTER SCHOOL CARE
Following a competitive tender process, a new service provider, called Community OSH, will be taking over Wyvern’s before and after school care provision as well as vacation care. The start date will be 4 December 2019. We were impressed with Community OSH’s commitment to high quality, staff stability and engaging programs tailored to our students. We thank Junior Adventures Group (Oshclub) for their service to Wyvern boys and families over the last 2 years. Further information will be communicated about the transition to Community OSH in the next few weeks.
