A Message from Mr Holden
In week 6 there will be an opportunity for you to meet with your son’s teachers (both class teachers and specialist teachers), primarily with the aim to discuss his progress so far and to set learning targets for the year. Semester 1 progress reports will follow at the end of Term 2. In Term 3 there will be a second formal opportunity for you to meet with your son’s teachers to review progress. Finally, a comprehensive end of year report will be issued at the conclusion of Term 4. An email invitation has been sent for you to book your first meeting times for either Tuesday 3 March, 3:30pm – 6:30pm or Thursday 5 March, 3:30pm – 6:30pm.
It was terrific to see the wonderful team spirit and camaraderie on display at the successful Wyvern Swimming Carnival last week. I was mightily impressed with some outstanding individual and team performances. Congratulations to the winners of the House competition which this year was Williams. I also thank the many parents who attended for their wonderful support. The staff team, led by Mr Wilson, ensured the day ran smoothly; my thanks to them.
May I please request that parents who wish to park their cars and pick up their sons do so via the top playground and not via the car park. There is no pedestrian access via Harrow Road. Parents who use the drive-through to pick up their sons should not arrive at the car park entrance before 3:05pm for K-2 students and 3:20pm for Year 3 -6 students. This allows time for students to be in position in the car park before parents arrive, thus reducing queuing. Arriving before this time causes major congestion. Please observe the ‘No Stopping’ zone at the approach to the car park and please do not enter the car park by crossing the double lines on Harrow Road from the Trafalgar street direction. We fully co-operate with Marrickville Council who have advised us that there will be regular ranger patrols on the roads around the Wyvern campus.
