A Message from Mr Holden
As we continue to sprint through this very busy term I am sure that boys and parents are looking forward to a few days of down time over the upcoming Easter break. A reminder that Thursday 24th March is a Staff Development Day. On that day we will be focusing on developing our already strong professional links with staff at the senior school campus. Vacation care is available on this day via www.oshclub.com.au
From the start of Term 2 Ms Alina Belshaw (Head of Music) and Mrs Melanie Bryden (IT Coordinator) will take periods of maternity leave. We wish them well for the exciting weeks ahead. I am pleased to announce that two very experienced teachers will take over these important roles. Mrs Rowena Tall will join us in Terms 2 and 3 as Acting Head of Music. Mrs Tall is currently at New England Girls School in Armidale having previously worked in independent boys schools in Sydney. Mr Mark Potter joins us for the rest of the year as a STEM teacher (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) with a particular focus in the upper primary section of the school. Mr Potter has significant experience in this area working in Australian and US schools.
Thank you to those parents who were able to attend the Prep Schools Cross County event yesterday. Despite some threatening weather earlier in the morning the event ran smoothly and it was a tremendous sight to see the Wyvern and Lindfield boys running against the backdrop of the superb campus facilities of the Senior School. There were some excellent individual performances, and on the basis of these, a number of boys will now go on to represent the Prep Schools at the IPSHA Cross Country Carnival on 2nd April. I was especially pleased with the great spirit, enthusiasm and determination shown by all. Well done to Coates House who were the overall winners of this year’s carnival.
Ian Holden
