Artist of the Week

K-2 Artist of the Week

Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed working on their mixed media ‘Junk Men’ sculptures.

They carefully selected small pieces by exploring an array of recycled materials.  The boys chose interesting objects and arranged them on their canvas.  Through this experience, the boys explored the idea of drawing the viewer into the artwork by the careful placement of objects, and by the layering of materials to create interest.

Theo, Cruz and Oscar have used colour and the careful placement of objects to create well balanced sculptures.

Well done!

Years 3-6 Artist of the Week

The Artist of the Week comes from Year 3 , 4 and 5 this week.

Year 3

Year 3 Finished their ‘Abstraction’ unit, based on the art of Vasily Kandinsky. The boys were taken through a number of steps of paint mixing and layering backgrounds, then adding work on top to create a focal point. The artworks are called ‘Black Grid’.

Congratulations to Ren Clarke,  Christopher Beaton and Zac Thomson for their beautiful abstract work.

Year 4

Artist of the Week goes to Leo Langman of Year 4 for his beautiful and well crafted ‘Pirate Ship’ based on the art of Grayson Perry.

Year 5

The Year 5 boys have been working on ceramic ‘Space Monsters’ using a number of complex ceramic techniques. The work was very individual and interesting.

Congratulations to Maksim Stevanovski, Kiril Kukeski-Xipolitas, Orson Lloyd, Max Filetti, Luka Tomesevic, Cooper Scott-Mackenzie and Henry Pardea.
