Artist of the Week
K – 2 Artist of the Week
Year 2 have continued working with figures, this time pushing their thinking away from the human form and into the mechanical world of robots. With a little bit of artistic know how, a variety of layered flat shapes were used to change a 2D artwork into 3D artwork and the robots seemed to jump off the page. Hugo, Daniel, Nicholas and Aydin’s robots are well balanced, show an understanding of proportion and their choice of finishing touches make them uniquely theirs.
Well done, boys!

3 – 6 Artist of the Week
This week’s Artist of the Week comes from Year 5.
In Term 1, Year 5 researched early Australian settlers and the types of occupations they had. They imagined themselves stepping back in time in order to make ‘Historical Selfies’. They were then able to shrink their pictures and make a ‘phone case’ using their own design choices. These were laminated, and are on display outside the Year 5 classrooms.
Photos with boys using their ‘Selfie Phones’ Jay Ziri, Kyan Pavendranthan and Thomas Eddy.
