National Simultaneous Storytime 2017
What an incredible year it was for National Simultaneous Storytime 2017! With over 686,324 participants and over 6,129 locations registered throughout Australia, it was by far the biggest, most successful NSS year yet!
At Wyvern, eleven Senior School boys arrived at 11am to help us celebrate this special event. The K- 2 boys listened to Eddie Perfect read the 2017 NSS chosen book, The Cow Tripped Over the Moon. We were very fortunate to have the author, Tony Wilson, as one of our presenters at Wyvern for our Literature Festival in early May, so the boys felt a personal connection and familiarity with the author and story. As this story was based on a nursery rhyme, the Senior School boys performed other familiar nursery rhymes with actions, the Wyvern boys following along with them and participating in the fun. The K – 2 boys then returned to their classrooms and shared their favourite books brought from home with the Senior School boys. It was difficult to tell who enjoyed the NSS festivities most – our Wyvern boys or our Stanmore visitors. Please enjoy some of the photos taken on the day by clicking here.
