Artist of the Week
K – 2 Artists of the Week
Lipina Ata, in Year 2, is Artist of the Week. Lipina persevered with the task of making a 3D sculpture from paper. He carefully folded and glued white and coloured paper to resemble a wave crashing onto the shore. The finished result was amazing and demonstrated clever fine motor skills.
Year 1 have been looking at the art work of Andy Goldsworthy. They have been copying his style, using lots of clever problem solving and making sculptures that are just for the moment. All the boys explored ice as a material for making a tower.

At the end of last term, Year 5 were working on creating masks. Masks are often used to define identity in some cultures. After studying the composition and designs of masks from all over the world, they created their own mask designs, rendered in water colours.
