On Sunday 26 August, seven students from Years 5 and 6 competed in the Tournament of Minds, Sydney East Regional Finals held at Sydney Girls High School. Tournament of Minds is an International problem-solving program requiring students to respond to a complex open-ended question in a creative and divergent way. This year the team competed in the Maths Engineering division and were required to present a Long–term Challenge whilst also responding to a Spontaneous Challenge. We are very pleased to report that the team were awarded First Place in their division and now go on to represent the school at the State Finals on Sunday 9 September at the University of New South Wales. We are exceptionally proud of their achievement and wish them the best of luck for the next stage of their competition.
